These stuffed pasta shells are filled with a creamy mixture of ricotta cheese, sautéed spinach, and Italian herbs, all topped with marinara sauce and a sprinkle of cheese. They are rich, flavorful, and perfect for a fulfilling meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Boil the pasta shells according to package instructions, drain, and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a skillet, sauté the chopped spinach over medium heat until wilted. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, sautéed spinach, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stuff the Shells: Fill each pasta shell with a generous spoonful of the ricotta and spinach mixture.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells on top, then pour the remaining marinara sauce over them. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  5. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious stuffed shells with a side of garlic bread or a fresh salad.
