Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
  3. Whisk Eggs and Sugar: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until pale and slightly thickened. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Gently fold in the flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until just combined.
  5. Fill Ramekins: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  6. Bake: Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
  7. Serve: Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
