Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional granulated sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
  3. Form the Cookies: Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into balls. If desired, roll the balls in extra granulated sugar for added sweetness.
  4. Bake: Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them to spread. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork to create a crisscross pattern. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  5. Cool: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added texture, mix in chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
