A classic tuna salad sandwich topped with melted cheese, grilled to golden perfection. A quick and comforting lunch option.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna, drained
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter

 

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix the drained tuna with mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spread the tuna mixture evenly on one slice of bread. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and close the sandwich with the second slice of bread.
  • Butter the outside of the sandwich.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

 

  • Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitutions:
    • Use sliced cheese instead of shredded for convenience.
    • Add diced celery or pickles to the tuna mixture for extra crunch.
  • Storage: Best served fresh, but you can refrigerate the tuna mixture in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
